Week 26 Nogales Livin’!!!

Image
What's up everybody?! I'll keep this short and sweet. I wanted to give a brief update on how I'm doing. So I got transferred to Nogales it is a TON different than my first area Magdalena. It is a big change going from a small town of MAG to the "city" of Nogales. There are so many people here and it is crazy how much I get to talk to people with my (improving) Spanish. My Mission President told me that he thinks that I am more fluent than a North American college graduate who studied Spanish. I hope that's true!!! Hahaha it's always comforting to hear that my Spanish has improved a ton! My companion, Elder Joachin, is super fun and lively. We always have a good time when we're teaching or out in the street. I still stick out like a sore thumb being a white dude in downtown Nogales, but I try to make the most of it.There are always teenage girls who say stuff to me and start laughing and walk away. I try and use these opportunities to start...

Week 25 Pictures

This week we talked to Tyler on the phone again! We were able to FaceTime and here about his first week in Nogales with his new companion Elder Joaquin. Interestingly enough, when you talk face to face, you don’t get the run down of what he is doing like a well worded email.  So he is doing great, obviously there are still a lot of things that are difficult but he seems to laugh about it most of the time.  He was sick most of the week with a stomach bug and above shows him at the doctor.  Hopefully next week will be brighter! Week 24 Lost in the Sauce

The phrase "Lost in the Sauce" is one all the American missionaries say here. It's basically means the point when you don't quite speak Spanish perfectly yet but you are starting to forget English.....I am SO LOST IN THE SAUCE! Literally my English is so bad it's funny. I will talk to other people/missionaries in English and I sound so weird....hahaha can't wait what I'll sound like when I get back. Sorry I haven't been emailing much. The church came out with new rules saying that we missionaries can call, text, or face time our families every week. So you already know I was hittin' up the fam! So little update, these past 6 weeks, I have been in the same town (Magdalena) with my companion Elder Sanchez. The past few weeks we were covering another town called Imuris, which is basically in the middle of nowhere. But the work was progressing and we were able to teach many people. One of my favorites is this 14 year old dude named Cristop...
