Another Day, Another Dollar (9th)

Well I have survived another week here in Magdalena. I am actually here in Nogales because we had a zone activity. We first played some soccer with some of the members. We first played in this arena type field. It's basically an indoor field outside. Many kids came out to watch us and then a bunch of people were watching us. I think they find it funny watching a gringo play (I was the only gringo FYI). We then had an "olympics" which basically consisted of going to a park and playing knockout, duck duck goose, tic tac toe, and this relay race thingy. It was okay but was fun being around the other missionaries. It was nice after a rough week.

Yeah I'm gonna be straight forward, this week was the longest yet.  It has been so hard walking in the burning sun and sleeping in the freezing cold. It literally drops a good 20-30 degrees within an hour...it's phenomenal actually.

We teach a good amount of Lesson 1 (or the Restoration) and sometimes Lesson 2 (Plan of Salvation). So my Spanish gets a tad bit better but I can't really understand anything still. But like I said, there really isn't ever another visit.

I read in Psalms 147 verses 3-5, and it says,

3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

I then remembered how the Lord does understand and does know each and every one of us. He suffered for all of our pains and afflictions and knows more than anyone. I then realized that I have become closer to the Lord than I have ever been in my life. And boy what a blessing that is. I rely so much on prayer, scriptures, teachings of the prophets, etc. I don't think I could have said I enjoyed doing all those things a couple months ago. Thank you for your prayers because they are felt.

Moving on to "happier" things...
I went on splits with the Imuris Elders for a full 24 hours, and this time it was with Elder Estrada. I love Elder Estrada, he is cool and super chill.
I still drink a ton of Coke everyday because that is what is provided by everyone here in Mexico. It is what I call "Mexican Water".
Tortillas are still amazing as ever.
We had an investigator (16 year old girl) named Sofia show up to church yesterday so that's cool! Hopefully we can continue to teach her.
I start to notice people who look like the people I knew from either in Midlo or BYU. Like this less active family we are trying to teach and baptize the rest of the fam, the mom looks exactly like Sarah Hammond but just with a Mexican twist. It's actually super funny.

I bought a Mexican Baja sweater the other day for only 200 pesos ($10-12) so that was also awesome. I sleep with that at night and it helps so much.

Anyways, good to hear BYU can go to a bowl game this year. Hopefully they can beat the Utes and Women's volleyball can make a run deep into the tourney!
BYU basketball seems to always live and die by the 3. It sounds like we could've used Eli Bryant for one more year.
How's the NBA? NFL? Hopefully the Jazz are doing better than when I last heard. Lonzo and Lebron must be fun to watch. Are the chargers actually gonna be in the playoffs? Taysom doing good still?
As for mom and the blog, I'm cool with whatever. I'm still gonna send emails out once every two or 3 weeks just because.
Love you guys! Thanks for the prayers and support!
