Provo MTC September 29th (1st)

Hey guys!!! What is up?! I've been in the MTC for 10 days now so I'm basically a veteran. I'm doing real well. It's been quite the transition, but it's been nothing but blessings!! 
Just a little context, I was originally assigned to the Mexico City MTC (training center) but my Visa hadn't come through yet. So I was re-assigned to the Provo, Utah, MTC. So I've just been right down the road from BYU and found out yesterday that my Visa had come through and that they are reassigning me and my whole district (district is basically a group of missionaries I go to class with and there's about 14 of us) to the Mexico MTC in 10 days!! Exciting stuff!!





So I'm assigned a companion for 6 weeks, so we are basically joined at the hip throughout the duration of the 6 weeks. His name is Elder Edington from Tuscon, Arizona. He's a pretty cool guy; he loves to sing ALOT. He's a good singer so at least that helps...hahaha.
So I basically am in class or studying Mormon doctrine or Spanish all day. Nothing too exciting, but I can speak and read Spanish a ton better than I ever thought I could. I know God is truly helping me try and learn the language. Still a long way to go...but going nonetheless!

The MTC is aight. Besides class, studying, and eating....that's basically it. We get 1 hour of exercise time per day. I always just go to the bball courts and try to sauce some kids...needless to say, I've established my reputation as a baller;)
Haha in all seriousness it's so fun. I love being surrounded by people who are also dedicating 18-24 months of their lives to serving the Lord! There's a spirit here that is unlike any other and it feels great!

We read in Luke 22 about Jesus Christ atoning for our sins and suffering all pains, agonies, and heartbreaks for all of humanity in the Garden of Gethsemane. While he is suffering, he says to the Father (or God), "Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done."  Or in other words, Jesus was asking the Father to "remove [the] cup" from him so He could stop feeling the agonizing pain. 74 Week "I only love my bed and my momma...I'm sorry!!!

This past week was a bit of a rough one....it's not everyday that a missionary gets sick on his mission. It's even worse when you can't leave the house for a few days cause you can't do a whole lot except.....well...recover! But I'm feeling better and we're back on the grind so it's all good! Here's a few things about Caborca that one should know... 1) Imagine that you are in the middle of no where in the desert, and you see a random city....That would be Caborca 2) Caborca is super famous for their world class Asparagus. There's a bunch of farms here and a ton of people work on them. We are in harvesting season right now so it's pretty hectic. 3) In case I haven't mentioned before, it's the straight desert here. So we are always having to be careful with the flying sand and dust that's in the air. 4) People say the best tortillas are from Caborca....they're good don't get me wrong....but all of Sonora will have s...

75 Elder McGregory is back

What's good?! Just wanted to give a quick update! Elder McGregory: So if y'all remember my good ole days in Magdalena, I was (somewhat) commonly known as Elder McGregory (nicknaming after the boxer/fighter Conor McGregor). Now it has come full circle...allow me to explain... Bobby: One day this random dude calls us up and just says, "Elders, my name is Bobby and I want to get baptized." We stopped whatever we were doing and met up with him immediately. He told us he has taken the lessons for 3 years but had never felt prepared until now. He lives in the area of the sister missionaries, so we passed the reference. It also turns out (oh by the way, this guy is HUGE) that this Bobby dude is the owner of a boxing gym. He always says that we can go to his gym whenever we want.
