the harder the work, the better the reward Week 15

This week was a GRIND. Like it was so hard, but that is the life of a missionary in Magdalena.

Not gonna lie, it was hard after talking to you guys. I got super homesick. And it also didn't help that for everyday and all day this past week, all we did was door to door contacting.

The only lesson we had planned for the whole week was with our one progressing investigator, David, he has problems with smoking and with his wife. But he is very interested and loves when we come over.
So me and Sanchez decided to fast one day for him. That was so hard. I was so tired and hungry and thirsty and the whole nine yards. But I was just hoping for a miracle, I knew that with because of our faith, we could receive one.

We had the branch president come with us, and boy was that a gamechanger, the whole family came and heard the lesson. I couldn't really understand exactly what was happening, but it was like a spiritual intervention of sorts. Then David randomly said "yo quiero ser bauzitado" (or I want to be baptized) and me and Sanchez were like......come again? And he proceded to say how he wants to be baptized.

So Magdalena has a baptism for the first time in 3 years on Saturday. Hopefully that comes through but it looks very hopeful. It is just a testimony to me on the power of fasting and faith. Honestly this week was so hard, and there were times where I feel like I couldn't go on. But some way, somehow, like Gordon B Hinckley says....it just works out!

On another note, we were awoken last night at 2am by Manny the Mouse who was, once again, playing around in my clothes!!!! So me and Sanchez got our broom, nerf guns (thanks McKinley's!!) and kitchen knifes and were at war for probably a half hour with trying to catch this mouse. Unfortunately, Manny escaped and our sleep was pretty much ruined. But maybe we will have better luck next time.

Sad to hear BYU bball is struggling....we need to hire Mark Pope!!! I'm all aboard on the Ccookie train!!
I will be on later today as well and will probably send my weekly (more like monthly) email!

Love you guys!
