37 "Cuando Yo Te Vi..."

The subject line is part of a super popular song here in Mexico that has been stuck in my head for well over a week now....it's so catchy!!

A member one day asked me if I actually knew any Spanish. Without thinking I just started singing the song word for word and he just started bursting out laughing. I guess no one was expecting that (including me to be honest...hahaha). He then proceeded to play the song on his guitar while I sang a little bit. If you got the time to check out the song, it's called "Te Vi" by 21 Pisos....#jamminOutInMX

My first week with Elder Judd was a good one. He's new to the area and I have been showing him around and whatnot. We cover a lot with our bikes, but luckily, he was really into Mountain Biking and BMX Biking before his mission in Idaho. He's a little shy and quiet, but we mesh well cause I'm a little more "out there". He's actually super funny and a hard worker, it's been good thus far.

This past week I have been trying to take it a little easy. I've been experiencing quite a bit of head pain along with some other weird things. It's probably because of the heat (100 degrees+ every day). But we were able to put TRES FECHAS BAUTISMALES or 3 baptismal dates. Two with a couple named Leonardo and Julieta, and one with a mom of a part member family named Claudia. I have just grown to love each of these people so much. It's crazy what the mission does to you!!! I get so excited to be with them and teach them about Jesus Christ. They are all so interested and have a strong desire. God can truly help people feel the love He has for EVERYONE.

Which leads me to my spiritual thought, it comes from the Book of Mormon. In Jacob 3:1-2 it says...

1 But behold, I, Jacob, would speak unto you that are pure in heart. Look unto God with firmness of mind, and pray unto him with exceeding faith, and he will console you in your afflictions, and he will plead your cause, and send down justice upon those who seek your destruction.

2 O all ye that are pure in heart, lift up your heads and receive the pleasing word of God, and feast upon his love; for ye may, if your minds are firm, forever.

I heard this once in a talk (by John Bytheway) and a lot of times, people aren't looking for some "spiritual overhaul." Sometimes all people need is a "spiritual pick-me-up". This is the perfect scripture for it! It explains perfectly that if " Look unto God with firmness of mind, and pray unto him with exceeding faith, " then he will console us, plead for us, and give us protection. When we hold FIRM unto Him, we are always watched over as well as recipients of all kinds of blessings!

I do so apoligize for my lack of replying for some of the emails I have received, just know I love you all and do appreciate all the support and prayers I receive. They are felt! I'd also love to know how you're doing, and I'll do my best to respond:)

LOVE ELDER GREGORY ❤
