56 Weeks SEE aTAZING blessings

To be honest....I never thought that I would ever get tazed....I also never thought that if for some reason I actually did get tazed...I never thought I'd be on the mission doing it...but Ladies and Gentlemen....ya dude Elder Gregory got tazed.

To save time, I'll just have to tell you guys the story another time #cliffhanger but I'm all good! Ciudad Obregón is super awesome!

It's been a little bit interesting these past weeks just cause Elder Sill (my AWESOME kid) and I have just been grinding trying to start up this new area. It hasn't been easy...but we have some pretty awesome members here helping us see the miracles that we have here! 

One miracle has been a lady named Carmen. We found her family knocking doors one day and she told us that she has been waiting "for a special change in her life" and later told us that she felt that WE were this change. We then thanked her for her kind comment, but told her that we are just messengers. God was the one helping her  with "this special change" that she has been experiencing. She came to church with us with her kid and told us that it was amazing. We have big plans for her and I'll keep you updated on how that goes!

Just wanna brag about my kid for a second. This dude is a straight stud! Dude can understand and speak Spanish SO WELL!!!! I'm trying to help his confidence more because sometimes he thinks he's not doing well enough (which is FAR from the truth). But it's also normal to think that at the beginning of the mission. So I'm trying to do a lot of practicing with him, I hope that he's patient with me cause I'm really trying to push him. I can already see his high potential!! 

Spiritual thought: This awesome scripture comes from 2 Nephi 31:20 in the Book of Mormon...which says...

20 Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life.

It's pretty straightforward. When we press forward, TRUSTING that wonderful plan God has created for us (which is centered on Jesus Christ) we will obtain ETERNAL LIFE. Eternal Life=Happiness for forever as families and with God and Jesus Christ :)

We read in Luke 22 about Jesus Christ atoning for our sins and suffering all pains, agonies, and heartbreaks for all of humanity in the Garden of Gethsemane. While he is suffering, he says to the Father (or God), "Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done."  Or in other words, Jesus was asking the Father to "remove [the] cup" from him so He could stop feeling the agonizing pain. 74 Week "I only love my bed and my momma...I'm sorry!!!

This past week was a bit of a rough one....it's not everyday that a missionary gets sick on his mission. It's even worse when you can't leave the house for a few days cause you can't do a whole lot except.....well...recover! But I'm feeling better and we're back on the grind so it's all good! Here's a few things about Caborca that one should know... 1) Imagine that you are in the middle of no where in the desert, and you see a random city....That would be Caborca 2) Caborca is super famous for their world class Asparagus. There's a bunch of farms here and a ton of people work on them. We are in harvesting season right now so it's pretty hectic. 3) In case I haven't mentioned before, it's the straight desert here. So we are always having to be careful with the flying sand and dust that's in the air. 4) People say the best tortillas are from Caborca....they're good don't get me wrong....but all of Sonora will have s...

75 Elder McGregory is back

What's good?! Just wanted to give a quick update! Elder McGregory: So if y'all remember my good ole days in Magdalena, I was (somewhat) commonly known as Elder McGregory (nicknaming after the boxer/fighter Conor McGregor). Now it has come full circle...allow me to explain... Bobby: One day this random dude calls us up and just says, "Elders, my name is Bobby and I want to get baptized." We stopped whatever we were doing and met up with him immediately. He told us he has taken the lessons for 3 years but had never felt prepared until now. He lives in the area of the sister missionaries, so we passed the reference. It also turns out (oh by the way, this guy is HUGE) that this Bobby dude is the owner of a boxing gym. He always says that we can go to his gym whenever we want.
