Week 66 just pictures!

Image
We talked to Tyler yesterday and his city is a ghost town because of the holidays! Hard for missionaries and especially a people person like Tyler to be isolated.  Luckily he had a moment of peace and joy as he was able to talk to some friends including his college roommate! Random pictures with his companion Elder Sevilla, the town of Nacozari and probably Aqua Prieta. Also animals and babies Elder Gregory has to wear a coat too because it is cold!!! 🥶

Week 65 Christmas

Elder Gregory spend this week serving with some Americans.  He helped translate for the eye doctors that were giving free eye exams. Moms send me these messages and these pictures Message from Sister Tucker a member visiting with her family. “We left Nacozari and are headed back to Agua Prieta.  It was so great to meet your son.  He was such a huge help to our group today.  He is an amazing missionary.  I have three sons (18, 16, 14) and he was a great example for them.  Thank you for raising such a great young man. It was fun to spend the day with him.  He was in Agua Prieta for a zone meeting so we drove him back to Nacozari where we were handing out some food and blankets and coats and other supplies and giving eye exams and glasses to people.  We were so glad to have him there to translate.  His Spanish is amazing!” This week he talked to his Sister Brinley while we were at Busch Gardens.  The connection was bad an...

Week 64 Nacozari Nacozari?? more like NacoSAFARI!

Couldn’t give too much of an update because he had a long bus ride ahead (almost 12 hours of traveling) He got sick from the flu shot and had to go to the hospital.  5 other missionaries got sick from the flu shot too.  I will know better tomorrow everything and hopefully he will write an update that I can post below. Holy cow...what a past few days I have had...allow me to explain. So my "kid" Elder Sill and I were waiting to hear about the upcoming transfers, fully expecting that I would go while he would stay. But you never know where the Lord needs you to be! We both got taken out, so he's chilling in the offices right now while I got transferred to the furthest area away from the mission home, Nacozari. And things start to get a little crazy after that... Our last days in Obregon were SO SAD (as other missionaries understand the pain of transferring away) and I watched as my own "son" left on his bus to Hermosillo (super sad!!!). A little while...

Week 63 FlalalaLOTS of Tortillas

This week was a pretty solid week!  We have really trying to focus on our investigators this week and on their needs. Obviously as missionaries, we are always focusing on the needs of the people we teach. But we wanted to involve the members more in the work that we do. Especially around Christmas time because there's no better season to serve and help others come unto Christ than Christmas! Other than that, I'm really good! I'm in the (likely) last week with my SON!!!! NOOO!!! DON'T TAKE HIM AWAY FROM ME!!!! He's grown so much and we have a really good time together. I love our difference in personalities but our common desire to learn more about Christ and help others build their faith too! Transfers are this week so there's I chance I'll leave....I'll keep y'all posted! Les amo! Elder Tyler Gregory

Week 62 Gobble Gobble

Image
I gotta start off this email by saying Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Thank you so much for your support, love, and prayers. Y'all have NO IDEA how much they mean to me.  Also...nothing says Gobble Gobble more than BYU STRAIGHT SMACKING VIRGINIA TECH IN BASKETBALL BABY!!!! Hahaha shoutout to all my Hokie friends out there...maybe one day y'all will beat us! #neverhavelosttoTech #5-0 Haha jokes aside, it's been a pretty interesting past few weeks. Elder Sill and I have been trying SUPER HARD to teach people about Christ and help them progress, but the mission isn't all sunshine and rainbows...it's been pretty difficult these past few weeks. BUT, I ain't letting discouragement get to me, and I love how Elder Sill isn't either. We are still grinding down here! Blessing: It's legit been like 70 degrees down here and man it's been great! I actually think it's pretty cold....but I feel like this time next year I'll get a real taste of...
